The Stairguys
Made to measure Staircases
Similar to Pine found in most Builders Merchants but of higher quality (around 90%
knot free).
(Not to be confused with the inferior white wood found in most DIY stores
and used by most low cost Staircase makers)
Suitable for Painting or Staining.
If Waxing
with no other finish, seal first with Sanding Sealer, flat down with fine Glasspaper
and then Wax.
Although a Pine this Timber is harder and heavier than Mahogany with virtually no
knots and finishes well with Oil or Varnish
As with Redwood Pine If Waxing with no
other finish, seal first with Sanding Sealer, flat down with fine Glasspaper and
then Wax.
Another high quality Pine that finishes excellent with Oil but Varnish tends to lessen
the grain and colour
Again if Waxing with no other finish, seal first with Sanding
Sealer, flat down with fine Glasspaper and then Wax.
